Mariana Dan

Mariana Dan was born in Bucharest, but has lived for almost thirty years
in Belgrade, Serbia. She is the author of twelve books, including three collections
of poetry. She teaches at the University of Belgrade, where she
heads the Romanian literature department. Her most recent book, Angels
at the Bus Stop
(2006), has had several of her translated poems published
in U.S. journals, including Words Without Borders, Puerto del Sol,
Subtropics, Absinthe: New European Writing, Rhino, Sou’wester
, and
Salamander.
