Ray McManus received his MFA in poetry in 2001, and his Ph.D in Composition and Rhetoric in 2006, at the University of South Carolina. He is the author of two collections of poetry: Driving through the country before you are born, which was published by USC Press and won the 2007 South Carolina Book Prize and Left Behind (Stepping Stones Press, 2008).
