Colette Inez is the author of eight collections of poetry. The most recent, Clemency, was published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 1998. She has received fellowships from the Guggenheim and Rockefeller foundations, as well as two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts. Widely published in literary journals, Inez has taught poetry at Cornell, Ohio, and Bucknell Universities, as well as the New School, and is currently on the faculty at Columbia University where she has taught since 1983.
