Gwyneth Lewis writes in both English and in Welsh, her first language. Her first English language collection, Parables & Faxes, was published in 1995, and her first Welsh language collection, Sonedau Redsa, came out in 1990. She won a major Gregory Award in 1988, and was featured in New Women Poets in 1990. She works as a television producer in Cardiff, her birthplace. She is currently on a reading tour of the U.S.
